What Skiers Say About Morillon

Morillon is reviewed primarily by intermediate and advanced skiers who value its position within the Grand Massif linked area, providing access to a large ski domain across five villages. The resort itself is described as quiet, family-friendly, and good value, with efficient lifts and well-groomed runs dominated by blues and reds. However, multiple reviewers note snow reliability issues at village level due to lower altitude, particularly in recent years and later in the season, though higher slopes remain better covered. The village has limited nightlife and dining options, especially at the mid-station Les Esserts. Reviewers consistently praise the free ski bus, lack of lift queues, and suitability for families and beginners.

Great car park at the bottom of the main lift. You get access to the whole Grand Massif without having to drive up the mountain to Flaine. It was busy on New Year’s Eve and the snow was thin but still enjoyable.

The resort area of Gran Massif is huge compared to other ski resorts I have been to. With five main towns that are connected by loads of runs, there were so many options and variety to make every one of our 6 days different! Ski bus was free without having to present lift pass. The ski pass is reasonably priced considering what you have access to. In March, the bottom half of the mountains had no snow and it was T-shirt weather in Morillon, so the piste map which is all white can be misleading. However, even with this in mind, the slopes that were accessible covered a huge area. Due to bluebird days, it was quite icy in the morning after being groomed making it more challenging/quick for boarding, but it didn’t take long (11ish) before the sun melted through the top layer to make the slopes a bit more forgiving. Flaine was deffo the most popular/busiest area. We preferred Les Carroz for the wide slopes, gondolas and quieter slopes. Will visit again.

Nice resort and friendly restaurants and hotel.
Unfortunately when we went there wasn't enough snow to ski down into the village which was a shame. Plenty of blue/red runs to ski, though not always very easy to find runs or lifts.

Morillon and the wider Grand Massif area is the best I’ve ever skied hands down. When the snow there is good, it’s a world beater.

Morillon 1100 is a family friendly, no cars resort. All you need for a great ski trip. This is not a party resort, but great for kids and beginners. It links to the rest of the Grand Massif which gives options for all levels and a huge variety of off-piste as well. The runs are wide and well groomed and the lift system is fast and all the links are well thought out and clear. Signage and edge of run marking are also very good. Its busy in Feb, but the rest of the time its very relaxed. Go, you will love it!

Morillon on its own isn’t a hugely extensive resort but it is part of the Grande Massif which is. The benefits of staying in Morillon is its cheaper than other ones in the Grande Massif, it has good tree runs if the weather is bad, including one of the best greens in the Alps called Marvel. Great long run for beginners but enjoyable for advanced too especially at the end if the day. We had a couple of bad weather days where they closed the lifts at Samoens and Les Caroz but Morillon always stayed open. If theres lots of snow you can ski all the way to the village otherwise the main cable car goes down. Its probably not the resort if you want bars and nightlife, but if you want a resort close to Geneva airport, cheaper accommodation with good access to the Grand Massif then Morillon is a good option. The lifts are quick and efficient.

Family friendly, 1100 is a car- free resort. Restaurants and bars are all friendly and well run. Supermarkets and bakery as well a good choice of ski-hire shops. 70mins from Geneva. Ski-school is ESF, very efficient. Great links to the other resorts in the Grand Massif. A number of new, faster lifts have gone in over the last couple of years makes skiing even better.
